Whisper My Name

A baby’s simple wish to her parents is that they “Whisper my name, so I hear it from you.”

In this short poem, a baby girl makes sense of her brand new world, comprised solely of her parents love. In it, she wakes to her parents warm embrace and sleeps under their starry eyes. They are her sun and her moon. Their love is the air she breathes and carries the sweet whispers of her name as she begins to learn it herself. “Whisper my name” she reminds them, seeking the love and tenderness that comes along with that whisper, “I need to hear it from you.”
